DESCRIPTION:We are 231 days away from the 2026 midterm elections\, and Democrats have an excellent chance of taking the House…if we do the work. The road to a Democratic House majority starts in Virginia\, and we have an opportunity to help make it happen! \nSwing Left Reno is hosting a postcard writing party at Coffee ‘N Comics in Reno to contact Virginia voters who will cast ballots in April in a special election to redraw their state’s Congressional districts. This is in response to Republican gerrymandering efforts in Texas\, Florida\, and elsewhere. Similar to the California redistricting initiative last year\, Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting process isn’t being replaced; it will return immediately after the 2030 census. As the VA Democratic Party states\, the initiative “is a one-time\, emergency exception designed specifically for the current moment.” \nPostcards\, scripts\, stamps and writing supplies are provided.
