A Special Meeting of the WashoeDems Central Committee will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 6 PM for the purpose of holding an election to fill mid-term vacancies in the WasheDEMS Executive Board.

No other business shall be conducted at this meeting. This shall be a hybrid meeting, held online via ZOOM and IN PERSON at our headquarters located at 1465 Terminal Way, Suite 1, Reno, NV, 89502.

Notice of Election
Due to the recent resignations of our Chair and Secretary, we will be holding an election for these Executive Board positions at a special central committee meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Additionally, if the current First Vice Chair (Acting Chair) is elected Chair, the office of First Vice Chair will immediately become vacant and an election will be conducted to fill that position.

Shown below are the Board positions up for election with a brief description of the duties of each. For an in depth description of each office go HERE.

CHAIR
Chief Executive Officer of the Democratic Party of Washoe County – preside over WCCC and Executive Board meetings; implement policies; appoint chairs of standing and special committees; authorized WashoeDEMS spokesperson.

FIRST VICE CHAIR
Liaison with Affiliate Groups  – maintain records of affiliate group bylaws; organize and lead quarterly joint meetings with the Executive Board and the Advisory Council; assume the duties of the Chair in the Chair’s absence.

SECRETARY
Maintain non-financial records of party business – record and prepare the agenda and minutes for WCCC meetings, its Executive Board, and the WashoeDEMS’ County Convention; maintain roster of WCCC members.

Election Overview:

  • The election will be held at the Washoe County Central Committee
    meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
  • Each candidate must be a registered Democrat residing in Washoe County.
  • Prior to the opening of the election, notice of the election and the filing deadline, along with the nomination form will be sent out to members of the WCCC via email.
  • Nomination forms shall be available in a downloadable print format (pdf) and online format (Google form).
  • Each candidate is required to file a nomination form to run for this position. Along with the nomination form, each candidate may submit an initial statement of qualifications and experience.

Filing and Election Dates:

  • Filing for the these positions, will open on Tuesday, March 31 2026, at 9:00 AM.
  • Closing deadline: Applicants must complete and submit a nomination form through the online form or designated email no later than Friday, April 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM to be considered a candidate for election.
  • Completed candidate nomination forms and statements of intent shall be posted on the DPWC website by Monday, April 13, 2026.
  • All e-mail communications to the WCCC member list from candidates shall be sent by DPWC. Email communications shall be limited to ONE (1) message per candidate.
  • Candidate messages must be received by Friday, April 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM and will be posted on the website and emailed to the WCCC members by Monday, April 13, 2026.

WCCC members who are unable to attend 
Please notify us via the registration form. This will be considered written notification to our Secretary and your absence will be excused. This is very important because Article 4 Section 3B of our bylaws states: “Any member who misses two (2) consecutive meetings of the WCCC shall be considered to have vacated his or her membership unless prior written notification is made to the Secretary of the WashoeDEMS.”

Online Attendees: Please sign in between 5:00-5:30pm. We strongly encourage you to log on at least 30 minutes before the start time to avoid any sign-in issues.
In Person Attendees: The office will open at 5:00 pm for sign-in.

The Central Committee meeting will be begin promptly at 6:00 pm.
