Today, at the DNC’s summer meeting in Austin, Texas, the full DNC voted to officially approve the proposed slate of six early states to lead the 2028 presidential nominating calendar, as well as the accompanying rules package. Nevada was chosen second in the nominating calendar, following first place South Carolina. NVDEMS Chair Daniele Monroe Moreno declared, “This new calendar best represents who we are as a party and I am excited to showcase our state as Democrats’ first true test in the upcoming presidential nominating process.” (link) Nevada is a majority-minority state representing Latino (31.2%), Black (11.3%), AANHPI (10.60%), Native American (2.70%), and white working-class voters. As the most labor-dense state in the calendar, we are also union strong, where organized labor represents 13% of our workforce. We’re also a consistently competitive swing state where elections are decided by the slimmest margin.
Attorney General Aaron Ford made a jam-packed swing through Reno, talking with students, union leaders, workers, small business owners, and undecided voters about how he'll lead Nevada out of the failed Lombardo-Trump economy and lower costs for working families. A Nevada legislative interim committee voted to sponsor a 2027 bill, modeled on New Mexico's law, restricting armed federal agents near polling places. The committee also ordered a draft requiring Clark and Washoe counties to log returned mail ballots within 12 hours and verify signatures within 24 hours. (Nevada Current)

In her remarks, she condemned Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda and attacks on immigrant communities while charting her vision for the future of immigration policy.
As gas prices in Northern Nevada climb above $5.00 a gallon, Joe Lombardo wrote a letter backing Trump's budget bill to shovel another $70 billion toward his Iran War. Attorney General Aaron Ford: "Nevadans need a Governor who will stand up to Trump and his cost-raising agenda, not bow down to his every whim."
Today, ahead of the PUCN hearing on the demand charge, Attorney General Ford slammed Joe Lombardo's support of NV Energy's price hike, which is set to raise Nevadans' energy bills by hundreds of dollars a year.
